I have really amazing friends.
3 of my closest friends,
Allyson, Lizz & Allison,
have all ventured to Ethiopia to serve LIA,
(Life In Abundance)
an incredible ministry that our church helps to support.
They have all come back with
broken hearts, renewed spirits, & fresh perspectives.
(For a SAMPLING of Allyson's incredible Africa photos click here)
(& her sweet hubby! Someday this will be Jeff & I! :) )
And now my friend emily,
already a mama to 4 babes,
has decided to open her life & her heart to an Ethiopian child
who needs a home and a family.
Emily felt God tugging at her heart, and she responded.
Is it crazy? Yes.
Is it scary? I'm sure.
Is it right? Absolutely.
(the anderson family adoption details post)
So much of this life is about obedience.
When we listen to what God is calling us to do and obey,
life can be so sweet
and will undoubtedly be better than we ever could have imagined.
These 4 friends,
along with the rest of our church's Africa teams,
have been so incredibly inspiring to me.
I feel like I have experienced a small bit of Africa
through their stories, their tears, & their excitement.
And I wanted to do something.
Even if its something small.
Sometimes those are the things that can make the most difference.
And I wanted them to know how much I care.
And most importantly, how much I believe in the power of God.
This onesie is now in my shop.
All proceeds will go directly to the anderson family's adoption fund
to help bring their sweet little Elsa home from Ethiopia.
During this time of thanksgiving,
let us remember all that we have been blessed with
and be even MORE willing to share those blessings with others
in the name of Christ.
Again, my favorite scripture:
"This is how we know what love is:
Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.
And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need
but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
let us not love with words or speech
but with actions and in truth."
